trouble with Biostar I45

Over in the computer help section I posted about my motherboard malady. If I have to replace it, which looks likely, what P45 board should I go for if I want really good stability with a little bells and whistles? I am leaning towards an Asus. Thanks for any help. I use 4x2 gb DDR2-800 and a C2D E8600 cpu.

did you ask for help at Rebelshavenforum.com They are kind of the unofficial Biostar forum and maybe it would be worth a try before you go to the time and expense of replacing the I45. Just a thought.

I posted there a couple of days ago and haven't seen a response yet. My second hard drive just disappeared from windows, I am leaning towards this needing replacement anyway at this point.

Change your sata cables.

Are you sure it's that simple? I've had these cables for a different setup and they worked fine. If I need to replace them which brand/model should I get?

I had the same problem with this board, you got to love biostar quality cables. Just give it a try, if that doesn't help well you could have a faulty drive or this motherboard is kaput!

Ok, I just rebooted after another freeze/crash and now my windows audio and ati video services aren't starting. Is this related to what's already going on or is this something new?
