Trouble with Anti-Aliasing

I started getting aliasing (jagged edges or stairs) in Halo after I installed service pack 2. It didn't bother me that much because I barely every played it anymore and since all my other games were fine I thought I'd just leave it the way it was. But now that I'm in World of Warcraft open beta and I see aliasing on all the edges, it's starting to be more than annoying. I plan on playing this game for a while and I can't stand what I see.

I run a P4 2.6c, 6800GT, 1gig RAM. All my settings in the nvidia control panel are turned all the way up, I have vsync enabled, AA at 8x, AF at 16x. I have the latest drivers and direct X (I ran driver cleaner when installing them.)

Anyone know why this is showing up, or more importantly, know a way to fix it?

Any help is much appreciated.

If you need screenshots, I can put some up on imagedump.com, but the level of quality they let you upload will probably reduce their usefullness.

For Halo you'll need to change the Halo profile in the driver, not the global one.

Halo doesn't support AA, upping your resolution is as good as it is going to get. My 6800gt runs the game reasonably well with 1280x960 and 4xAF with all the optimizations off.
