trouble with a duron system....

Have a duron 600 mhz system on an Abit KT7 non raid board.... the thing is this.... works fine..... but when booting up. it stops on verifying DMI pool for like EVER.. then it runs up... is this normal? or irregular?????


all that is on it is a seagate ata 66 8.4 gig hard drive
and ATI rage pro

and a generic sound card... with 128meg of pc133

How long is forever? Minutes? This is irregular then.

Verify the BIOS settings or try setting them to fail-safe. Or enable "reset configuration" (should be in some PCI/PnP settings screen)

Did you try booting without the hard drive?

I would say it sits there for about 20-30 sec.. at least. I will time it later tonight... and I don't think I tried to boot it without the hard drive... should I??
