Trouble with 4th mouse button in HL and Q3A

All right, I've got a Logitech Optical mouseman, that blue SOB with 4 buttons...I cannot get the thumb button to work for the life of me. Working on win2k, I've got mouseware 9 as well as the registry patch installed. I've tried playing with Mouseware on, as well as with EM_EXE or whatever shut down. Anybody know how to fix this? I've got to get it working! 🙂

i never go the extra buttons to work [intellimouse explorer] in q3a. plus i could only sometimes get the wheel to work, i never figured out how to fix it, i just gave up 🙁 sorry i can't help you
 
I use the Intellipoint SW to bind the thumb buttons to F2 and F3, then bind them to whatever I want. My Q3 CFG has:

bind F2 "+button2"
bind F3 "+button3"

...with F2 being Use Item (Enter) and F3 being Taunt.
 

If God wanted us to use a one button mouse, he would have given us only 3 fingers. If he wanted us to use a 3 button mouse, he would have given us 6 fingers. So for a 4 button mouse, maybe 8 fingers?

Maybe I don't play FPS games enough to appreciate anything other than a 2 button mouse 🙂
