Trouble w/radeon and my 1600sw ?

I'm having weird problems with my new radeon PCI card and my 1600sw lcd... I think it's the card... I'm getting bizarre patterns on the screen... like take the normal screen, chop it into 10 1" verticle shifts... now move every other one about 1/8" up or down. Like a checkerboard pattern. Does this sound familiar to anyone else???
