Trouble w/ Radeon 64 DDR Dual Boot: W2K OK, W98FE not work

I'm dual booting W2K and W98FE. I have a Radeon 64 DDR w/VIVO and a Sylvania 17" monitor made by Nissei Sangyo in 1997. On the W2K setup the Radeon works perfectly. However, on the W98 install I can't get more than Standard VGA. I've uninstalled, reinstalled, deleted, upgraded drivers -- nada. I continually get the message that something is wrong with my video settings, that they don't work with my hardware.

In W98 when I click on Properties, Settings, Advanced, there is no ATI tab or tabs like in W2K. I've emailed ATI tech support.... oh, well.....

Any ideas? Suggestions?

I need the W98 setup so my legacy scanner can work, the ISA SCSI card is not supported in W2K or else I would just dump W98.

Thanks!
