Trouble Setting Up PCI IDE Card

Ok, so I am new to computer hardware, know a good amount, but still getting over building my first comp a few months ago. Any way, I already have 2 hard drives, adn 80 and a 60 that I put in my computer, and i also have to cd drives. So obviously, my IDEA slots are filled off my mobo. I decided the other day I wanted some more hard drive space, so I picked up one of these babies:

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications...Details.asp?EdpNo=1265028&sku=THD-250A

(Seagate 250 GB)

But, I wanted to add it on to my other 2, so I figured that I would have to buy a PCI IDE card... so I purchased this along with the new HD:

Now I put the card in an empty PCI slot, plugged the HD into the blue IDE slot, and put the HD in the HD bay, started the computer up...

I installed the drivers and restarted, but my computer doesn't want to recognize the hard drive. I ran AIDA 32 and AIDA shows that it sees the hard drive, but it doesnt have a drive letter or anything. What am I doing wrong? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

What do you mean exactly?

Does the BIOS of the PCI->IDE adapter identify the drive?

You probably just need to format and partition it. Seagate includes easy, user-friendly software with the retail drives. Otherwise use PartitionMagic.

wow, I feel like an idiot... all I had to do was format/partition it like you said. Thanks alot... man i feel like a n00b, heh. Thanks again! Problem solved.
