Trouble ripping ISO, image on disk is 700mb, rip is 800+

hey, i got a cd here with 700mb data, upon ripping with alcohol120% and ISO buster ends up as a 800mb image, totally unburnable on the 700mb disk it came from. anyone recommend a diffrent app, or is my dvd/cd rom drive the problem? even ripping the image from an image drive causes read errors, and the image is 800mb there as well...

btw, when i check how many files are on the disk, and how much data there is, windows says there's 65,000 files, with a total of 4.5gb of data. tell me i'm not seeing things. are the folders linked together to fool the filesystem into thinking there's more, but really just a repeat of less? only one file system is present on the cd, so i don't get it... any help would be appreciated...

i may post screencaps upon request...

Have you tried directly burning the ISO file onto a disc, using Alcohol? Do not extract it, use Alcohol's Burn to Disc wizard to burn the data.

i don't have an ISO, i have a CD. it's kinda scratched up too. i tried smoothing out the scratches with toothpaste, but it did little to help...
