Trouble removing SP2

After I remove SP2 and the system reboots, it starts to load Windows and then everything on screen disappears. I tried to see if maybe the video drivers I have are only for SP2, but I can't figure out if that is the problem or not.

I also tried to do a repair of windows after the SP2 removal (the disk I have is SP1), and had the same results once it started booting into windows.

I have a Geforce 2 card with the latest drivers for Windows XP.

I am trying to remove SP2 to see if it is the reason for random restarts that I'm having (that's for another topic).

Any info would be helpful.

Removing SP2 is a nightmare because it requires reinstalling just about everything on your PC. Including certain things like IE. IF you can boot into safe mode then try to do an in place upgrade to windows XP SP1...
