Hello,
Been going a bit crazy here trying to install WinXP Pro SP1 on a new workstation. The install has been getting through the first step in which it copies all the files, then reboots, but as it starts installing devices, I get the following messages:
"windows could not load the installer for diskdrive. Contact your hardware vendor"
and
"windows could not load the installer for CDROM. Contact yout hardware vendor".
If I click OK, and let the install complete, the most obvious problem is that there are no CD roms recognized by the PC, with no CD icons in "My Computer".
The drive is a Sony DVD-Burner and has been used for months in my other PC. Also, this problem started only yesterday. I actually had installed WinXP successfully, but when going back (many times) to stripe for RAID 0, I screwed something up and had to reinstall the OS. Now I can not get install without these messages
Thanks
