Hi all,
I am having a problem with launching MS Office apps. I have an OEM Dell xps with the starter edition of Office installed from the factory.
I have had the computer slightly over a year and have had no problems. Now however, shortcuts on the desktop to office apps that used to work properly, now are a strange solid looking orange color instead of the usual icon, and clicking on them brings up an ad to purchase full office or activate a trial version. If I open Office first and then got to the actual file, it will open properly, but even if I open Office first, clicking on the shortcut icon still brings up the screen that I need to purchase the software.
Anybody know what has happened? Is this normal for the starter edition after a certain amount of time, or has my software become corrupted somehow. Unfortunately I cant delete and reinstall, because I dont have the actual copy of office.
