So i picked up a used Crucial C300 64gb SSD. problem is i just cant get W7 to even detect it for installing the OS to it.

My htpc is
intel i3 clarkdale (not SB...one before it lol)
mobo is a gigabyte GA-h55-usb3 rev 2.0

When i first got the drive i went ahead and just added it to my htpc. It was detected and all and i did a quick format to get get it into NTFS. Seemed to work just fine so i went ahead and disconnected my old OS drive and tried to install just the SSD. Well W7 does its thing and then i get to the select drive page and it isnt listed. My old OS drive was IDE so figured it might be a sata thing but i hooked up a 1tb WD green drive (satA) and it is detected as is the ide....just not the SSD.

I did try to "load" drivers at the drive selection page and tried pretty much all the ones on the gigabyte page for my motherboard but it didnt seem to work.

I tried changing bios to ide mode. achi mode. all but it doesnt seem to make a difference. The C300 is detected in bios. either as CH0 (its on sata port 0) or as a SCSI if i set everything to achi.

As a test i put it in my "desktop" (amd 4400+, asus a8n-premium) and it was detected and worked but needed to be formatted again for some reason (no biggie to me). So the drive works but just wont get installed for W7.

So any ideas or tips?
