Trouble installing Nvidia driver can I get some inputs

I downloaded the latest official driver WHQL too from Nvidia site, and it was a self extracted .exe file and the installation went fine and smooth, however, after it restarted I checked the display property it was never installed and no driver present.

WinXP Pro
Asus a7v133
Geforce2 GTS
512 rams

That's happended to me a couple of times too, you'll have to reinstall them the old fashioned way, the files have been moved into the windows system directory havn't they? Look for files which start with nv.

If they have then:-

Goto settings, control panel, add new hardware, select from a list, goto display adapters, look for nvidia and then select the video card you own.

Also Nvidia recommend you disable anti-virus before install of their drivers to prevent any possible corrupted driver files.
