Trouble installing linux

I'm trying to install Fedora Linux on an old IBM ThinkPad T20. Before it goes to the graphic installation screen it does a quick system check or something. Right now it's stuck on:

ACPI: Core revision 20070126
ACPI: setting ELCR to 0200 (from 0800)

It's been like this for over an hour.

I was also unable to install Ubuntu because it got stuck on another screen.

The specs for this old laptop are:
PIII 700Mhz
256 MB RAM
20 GB HDD

Does anyone know why it's stuck on this screen?

Edit:

I tried Red Hat and it worked.

Yea, the next step after setting the PIC-mode SCI trigger type is to actually enable ACPI so it's likely hanging there. You could also just try 'acpi=noirq' and see if gets any further since you might want to use ACPI on the laptop if it works.
