Trouble installing from CD-ROM in windows ME (Access Denied Error)

I am having trouble installing certain software on Windows ME. I have tried office 2000 Premium, and two Childrens games, On office, it always is trying to install to the CD rom drive, eventhought I tell it to install to C:\Program Files\Office\ it gives me an error that there isnt enough room on my CD ROM drive to install. On the two games, I get an error that says I dont have access to the instalation files on the CD ROM. I was wondering if anyone has had any of these problems, and how they fixed them.
