This thread makes me chuckle. It kind of reminds me of the arrogant know-it-alls that pop into my store and lay down terms for me fixing their computers. :eek:

Please explain how booting to a couple of slave HDD's will "mess up" a windows installation or system configuration.

:laugh: You might want to check out your post. :rofl;

This is the gist of what I've gotten from your statement: You have an OS and everything on a particular hard drive from a system, you take it OUT OF THAT SYSTEM and put it into a totally different computer and then attempt to boot, now tell me, what do YOU think happens next? :D

goku - please start taking your meds.....

The only thing funny is your inability to solve the problem at hand even though numerous solutions have been posted. I never once suggested that you boot to the drive that you want to clone; I said hook them up as slaves.

The gist is that you have an ill-functioning desktop with no free space and several 400GB hdd's that you can't figure out how to install. It's no wonder that you're still confused and pointing fingers at everyone else when it comes to cloning HDD's. :p

Bozo Galora's third post sums it up nicely. I was just too stubborn to give up so soon. :eek:

Ok, well if that is true, I misinterpreted what you said. or you're just screwing with my head.

No. That isn't the issue at hand, yes I have an issue with my 400GB drives, but it's more along the lines of 'where to put them'. My issue is with imaging a laptop HDD. Isn't the program like maxblast basically suppose to copy everything including the MBR/MFT?
