trouble getting into open network

I'm using 2 computers both running XP Pro and with one I can easily get into another PC no problems. But if Itry to get into one of them, I'm prompted to give a user/pass but I have never set a user/pass on this computer. All of the accounts have passwods turned off. When I try to set permissions on the computer that supposedly has a passwod, I am told "this folder is set for administrative use and permissions cannot be set" or seomthign like that.... someone help me, I may lose it any second.
