I have a Linksys BEFSX41 router and Comcast broadband internet and ever since I moved back home on both mine and my sisters computer we keep getting kicked off AIM every 5 minutes. I think it has something to do with the router I am using? Any clues, hints, or tricks on how to make this annoying problem stop?

Did AIM work fine with the router before you moved back home? Have you tried a different firmware on the router?

Yes, AIM worked perfectly fine at my schools LAN. I am using the latest firmware for this router too. Unless there is some beta I could use?

i have a net gear and it does that same thing. i turned on dmz mode and it has worked since then. the only problem with this is that only one computer can be in dmz mode and you loose all the security of being behind the router, so any other copmuter on you r network still has teh same problem with aim.
