Trouble downloading WoW 1.11

I get to 83% on the blizzard downloader and it freezes saying theres a firewall problem or somethin like that, but I turned off firewall, virus scan, ect and it still has a problem. I went to download it from fileplanet and it also seems to stop at 74.7%.

The Blizzard Downloader is god awful. The best I can average is around 100 kb/sec down and it makes my system pretty much unusable. I refuse to use that crap ever again unless they take another look at how it works and try to make something that is much less of a freaking resource hog.

But as for your question, no I haven't even gotten to 83% yet. 😛
 
Their downloader isn't bad necessarily, but it does need an option to throttle your upstream usage. With that, it'd be fine... without, it's unusuable unless you don't mind feeling like you're on a 56k while getting patches. Anyway, getting stuck at 83% was a common problem, as a few threads on the official playgro... forums can attest. I'd say just get it from filefront or another source. IIRC there's usually an ATer who hosts it for us, but I didn't see him post - maybe he quit?
