Trouble doing 1280*768 divx

Red Squirrel

No Lifer
I want to make a divx video using 1280*768 resolution. No matter which program I use (video editor, or vdub etc) it crashes. Is there a reason for this? Is there other standard codecs out there I could use other then divx, but that can also produce a decently small file?

I normally cut that res in half for youtube but I want to try to upload as that res. I've seen some videos where the screen actually goes bigger, which I believe is true hd, as opposed to just "high quality". So I want to experiment.

I tried xvid but that seems to crash hard with any res I try. Can't find some files or something, though I may try to reinstall it - I don't even remember installing it specificly, probably came with another app so it may be an old version.

Turns out only 2 pass is broken. Seems like it's an issue lot of people have and the fix is to use 1 pass. (for xvid) So guess that will work. Seems better quality then divx anyway.

My bad, I actually meant to say 720, but I went and double checked to make sure that's actually what I put when I did the render but it was. So yeah it'is 1280*720. Divx wont take it but xvid 1 pass seems to work ok so I'll just use that from now on when doing a render.
