Hey guys... i have a question.

Ok, I am running this mother board with a 3.0cghz chip and im having this problem.

The problem is windows xp. When i put together this system i set up bios first to clock to 10% using the AI overclocking. The system was running smooth at 3.3ghz. I was getting good temps.. 30 degrees C.

Well i noticed that my RAM was running at 266mhz while the 10% overclock was on. I have 2x512 kingston 3200 dual channel hyper x ram that can run at 400 mhz.

Well i went into bios and changed the setting in the "manual" section to 400mhz and then changed it back to 10% overclock. When went to load up windows displayed either a system file missing error , NTFS error, or the loading screen flashing then the system restarts.

I ran some tests and the system runs faster at 3.0ghz and 400mhz ram than 3.3ghz 266mhz clock. I want to know if there is a way i can clock while having the 400mhz ram speed!

Please help!!! I would like to know the most efficient way to clock my set up!

Thanks!

Basically, setting it for a 10% o/c and running your memory at 400MHz mrans your net memory frequency is 440MHz (220MHz FSB X 2). My PC3500 HyperX maxes out at around 220 on a 1:1. You have to set your memory to 320MHz (4:5) and change your o/c to manual. You'd have to run a 250MHz FSB in order to run your memory at 400MHz, and given the limitations of the Northwood you'd need VERY good cooling to run 3750MHz CPU. It's still worth running on a 4:5 with a lower memory speed, it seems the limitations of these boards is processor power. See how far you can get o/c'ing on a 1:1 with memory timings something like 2.5-3-3-7-8. That's probably your best o/c. Also, you might need to turn off performance acceleration while you o/c, especially if you run a 4:5. It's probably why the BIOS chose 266MHz rather than 320 on a 10% o/c. GL.
