<< Hi, I'm new to this forum and usually only lurk but if someone could help me that would be great. I'm trying to burn an .avi file that is according to my computer 663 MB (695,756,848 bytes used). So I figure a 700Mb CD-R should do the trick no problem. Well I start copying the file and it quits with like a minute remaining and an error code that says not enough free disk space to copy or mone the file, 703 MB copied. Am I missing something, why does it take 703+ MB to copy a 663 MB file? Can someone please explain this to me or better yet offer a solution. Thanks in advance! >>
This forum is where we discuss highly technical computer and science matters. From the future, please post this kind of question in technical support. If you have a question about hardware in general post in general hardware. If you are experiencing difficulty and would like some help, post in technical support.
Are you using Adaptec Easy CD Creator? The earlier version would automatically reports insufficient capacity whenever you exceed 650MB. You can over ride it by not using Wizard, but I'm not gonna get into details, because I don't know much about Easy CD Creator anymore. I dumped that garbage long ago.
Also, some older writers can not accomidate 700MB disc.
enable PM and PM me the model #'s, software versions or post it in technical support. I'll see what I can do for you.
