Trouble booting Windows 7 install from an HD.

Hello. I have a bit of a weird issue with my computer, and I'll try give the backstory to be clear on what happened.

I had an old IDE HD with a XP install. I bought a new Velociraptor HD, and put Windows 7 beta 64 bit on it. For some reason, the HD with the Windows 7 install wasn't a bootable device, and I've been booting off the old HD, which gives me the boot menu to boot into either OS. If I try to boot of the HD with the Windows 7 install I get the following error:

NTLDR is missing
Press Ctrl Alt Del to Restart

The HD is performing fine otherwise, and it seems like the problem could be that it's not configured to be a bootable device. Does anyone know the reason why I'm failing to boot from it? I'd like to take the old HD with the XP install out of my case, and boot off the Velociraptor. I'm going to have to put Windows 7 RC on it instead of the Beta, but I'd like to sort out my hard drive situation first.

Edit: It might help to know that I have 2 partitions on the HD in question, one of them containing the Windows 7 Beta install, and the other one empty.

you should have installed w7 with the other drive unhooked.

The Win7 DVD can do a boot repair on the Win7 installation. This may or may not cause your other XP installation to become unbootable.

You can look into BCDedit and Vistaboot pro.
