Just finished flashing my ATi 5870 to an unlocked bios and the flash seemed to go ok but after removing & reinstalling the win7 driver the videocard doesn't want to take the driver.

Bios is version 012.014.000.005.035264

Any suggestions?

Maybe someone can just recommend another bios I can use that has higher clock speeds? Might be simpler.

Many, many moons ago I flashed my 5850 with the hacked Asus 5870 bios so my memory is kinda vague. During my flashing adventures I managed to fubar the drivers a couple of times tho.

The 1st time I was able to fix it by doing the following:

You can paste the following commands into an elevated command prompt(run as administrator) Of course you got to hit enter after each one :)

set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices=1

start devmgmt.msc

Then you need to enable the show hidden devices from the dropdown menu.

I just deleted all shown under display adapters and also the ATI High Def sound ones under the sound, video game controllers section to be safe.

Then try to reinstall the drivers and see if they take.

The 2nd time I had to do a full install of windows to fix it.

My 5850 modded bios boots with 1000/1300 @ 1.165v's so no need for sliders. Card has full water block so temps are of no issue. Today it sits 99.9% of the time at idle tho as I don't get into gaming anymore.
