Trouble-adding memory to A7V mb

Here is my setup:

Thunderbird 1.1 Ghz
ASUS A7V MOBO (Bios 1005)
256 Megs of Atlas Precision PC133 (CL2)
ATI Radeon 32 meg
SoundBlaster Live Platinum 5.1
2 x 60 Gig Maxtor Ultra ATA 100 Hard Drives
KDS Monitor
Cable Modem
I needed to add some additional memory and got 2 more sticks of the Atlas Precision (256 Megs each - CL2). If I only use 2 sticks in DIMM 1 & 2 (or 1 & 3), there's no problem. However, when I put the 3rd stick in, I can't get the system to boot. During the boot process, I get the message that "The Creative software Synth cannot load MIDI worksets, MIDI playback has disabled.", then (sometimes) I get a blue screen (Windows ME) that says that system resources are low. I tried different combinations of the memory in slots 1 & 2 (and 1 & 3) without any problems, so it shouldn't be a problem with the memory. Do you think it could be the mb? Or maybe the power supply? I got an AMD approved 400 watt ps with the following readings: Core 1.808/3.3 bus 3.536/5 bus 4.972/ 12 bus 11.795. Or is there something I've overlooked? Thanks in advance...

Thanks D! The Microsoft KB article did the trick - just added a couple of line in the Vcach in System.ini. Boots fine/Runs great...Thanks again!
