Eduard Khil, known to the western internet users as Trololo man has passed away after fighting for life for several weeks.

I never enjoyed his songs much growing up, but was much amused to see him resurface as a brief but bright internet sensation. Rip, man.

Link? What did he die from? I have no idea what he did otherwise, but I really enjoy the trolololo song.

Western news have not picked it up yet. Huff Post has changed the title from 'Ill' to 'Dead', but no content change yet.

Here's the Russian source: http://lenta.ru/news/2012/06/04/away1/

He had a brain hemorrhage at the end of May and was transferred to ICU. Unfortunately, he did not make it. He was 78.

The origins of the song are a neat story too. It had lyrics that would not pass the government censorship, so they went with the humming, orchestra, and tralalol.

Rest in Peace Mr. Khil. Im glad you achieved international fame at one point in your life. I watched lots of your old videos and you were a great lounge lizard.

God bless and have fun in heaven, Eduard. ():)

WOW at the woman at :20. A whole lot of sexy.

Anyways, I wonder if he was aware of his internet fame, and what he thought about it. The fact that he is still singing this song in 2012 makes me think it was his moment in the sun, and its somewhat sad it was trivialized by internet jerks.
