Trolling rules are not consistently enforced

Take this post for example. Even supported by the main mod here.

Further down in the same thread, a mod accuses me of trolling:

Here's the problem:

Anandtech mods do not consistently call out trolling. I can only reply to trolls how trolls reply to me first. You can't possibly have intelligent conversations when mods support a poster who only posts low quality, bait, in 1 or 2 sentence replies. Zero substance posts.

I've been reporting this user's rule breaking posts for a long time. Nothing gets done.

The rule that this user consistently breaks is this:

1) No trolling, flaming or personally attacking members. Deftly attacking ideas and backing up arguments with facts is acceptable and encouraged. Attacking other members personally and purposefully causing trouble with no motive other than to upset the crowd is not allowed.

Look, I realize that I'm going up against mods here. It's easy to just throw in a jab too. You're probably not getting any warning for also breaking the rule here with this exact post.

All I'm asking for is consistency.

I know Anandtech forums is mostly dead but let's try to enforce the rules equally here. That's all.

I've been reporting this user's rule breaking posts for a long time. Nothing gets done.

While i am not at the liberty to discuss what actions are taken, i can assure when he does cross that gray line i do hand out violations. But at the same time when the entire thread is fueled with sarcasm and rhetoric, all i can do is post a general warning to avoid handing out infractions to half the members in the thread.

All we can say is just report and keep reporting. There isn't a single report we don't read. It may just take some time to make a call or action, but we can assure you that we do read all of them and then pass judgement. The call we make however will remain private and not be shared with the reporter for obvious reason.
