A friend of mine was downloading some files from my ftp server earlier today and his Norton Internet Security alerted him that the "Bugs Trojan" was attempting to access his computer from my ip address! I couldn't believe this, so I immediately did some googling to find out what this was all about. Apparently, the Bugs Trojan is some sort of Brazilian trojan, but little is known about it. Anyway, I can't figure out how this got through. I have Windows XP Pro behind a Linksys router/firewall, Norton Anti-virus, AND Norton Internet Security. The Bugs Trojan uses port 2115, but that is not open on my router settings. I did two complete system scans with NAV and it found nothing. I found the executable Systemtr.exe in my registry and deleted the key (this is what all the websites I found said to do). Anyway, my questions are the following:
1. Does anyone have any good information regarding this trojan (i.e. what can it be used for, how powerful is it, how is it used, etc.)?
2. How the hell did it get past all my security measures?
3. Has anyone else been a victim of this trojan?
Thanks for any help/tips/discussions.
