Ryan Secrest has been in the entertainment business for a while - first as a popular radio DJ in SoCal, iirc, then gradually getting more popular and making it into mainstream and becoming the host of American Idol, now his own TV show. Not to mention he is actually kinda funny/witty, unlike Carson.
