Triumph TR6

I've wanted one for about 10 years now, but I'm afraid to buy one because they have so many potential problems.

They used a positive ground electrical system, so you either have to deal with it or make sure you get one with a new electrical system to use any electronic devices in it.

They had a problem with severe rust in the wheel wells and trunk. Problem is, you can't see this rust easily, so you have to know what to look for.

There's lots of other things, but they're a BLAST to drive. It's like taking out a go-cart 🙂 I may still get one some day (or an MGB).

A friend of mine had one a few years back. It was plenty fun to drive, and he spent plenty time wrenching to keep it going. It finally developed a clunk when he accelerated that he at first thought was a bad u-joint. Some troubleshooting later and it turned out the car was splitting in half. When it accelerated, the rear part would thunk back into the front part. D'oh!
