I have a motherboard from an NEC Ready 9702. It's a proprietary motherboard with a stupid riser card, but I'm just messing with it.

It Uses an Intel Triton Chipset and PCI/ISA bridge, has ATI graphics integrated and was probably made by Packard Bell. It uses a Phoenix BIOS.

PCI Chipset:
SB82437VX
L6383313
SV176

On the actual CPU socket it says S62464.

Anyone have any websites with info on this chipset or the motherboards in the NEC Ready 9702's? Just basically going to max it out, possibly OC a little. Any info at all would be helpful.

From memory...

The VX was between the FX and TX. It officially supported up to 66MHz FSB, though some boards had unofficial 75MHz FSB settings (I think to support some Cyrix chips). FPM and EDO 72pin SIMMs were supported as well as SDRAM. I think because of addressing issues, SDRAM modules up to only 16MB or 32MB could be used. The chipset can address 128MB RAM, but only the first 64MB was cacheable. CPU support depended on the motherboard manufacturer. I don't remember if it could support dual-voltage CPUs (starting with the Pentium MMX), but it may be a function of the motherboard and not the chipset.

Also, if you can get a BIOS ID string during POST then plug it into Google, you may find more information. That's how I identified the motherboard in an old Packard Bell, turns out it was manufactured by Intel and used in both NEC and Packard Bell systems.

Thanks tcscenter!

For those interested in the whole BIOS string idea, a site to check out is

http://www.motherboards.org

Astute searchers will find a few threads by some cool guy named PrinceXizor....wonder who that could be ;)

Not sure if this will be of any help, but at the amdzone BBS, in the K6 topic, there are some knowledgable people concerning old stuff. To them, super socket seven is recent technology. Don't badmouth AMD and they will be nice.

The VX board I had is kaput, but I think it did have dual CPU voltages.
