I'd like to use an utility to "protect" my system and heard about Tripwire.
However, the version available on sourceforge hasn't been touched since 2001. As a result i am a bit wary of using it.

I found something called AIDE AIDE which seems more active.
However it has only reached version 0.10 ...

Did anybody try afick ?

Anybody care to recommand a good utility ?

Thanks in advance.

I haven't tried the others but I do like tripwire. I dont think development needs to be really all that active given what it does either.

aide works well. Last time I checked they were missing a feature or two, but nothing necessary.

The fact that it didn't work on RH AS 3.0 was a problem for us. At this point I don't remember what we ended up doing, I think we installed a commercial copy since it's actually maintained and worked.
