I would like to set up a tripple boot of NT4.0, win2k Pro, and WinXP.

I attempted and have failed before I have gotten very far at all.

I installed nt4.0 No Prob- made a 2 gig ntfs partition for it. Then I installed win2k on a 20 Gb NTFS partition.

After I did that, win2k was bootable but not nt4. NT4 gave me errors when booting up.

Anyone know what is wrong and why nt4 isn't working, or perhaps can give me steps to getting this tripple boot to work?

Thanks

Uh, why the hell are you trying to tri boot 3 operating systems that are basically updates of eachother?

Windows 2000 = NT5
Windows XP = Windows 2000 2/NT6

I would understand if you were tryig to tri boot Windows 98, 2000, and Linux, but this is just crazy. I don't even think it will work.

Windows 2000 = NT5

Correct

Windows XP = Windows 2000 2/NT6

Nope...Windows XP = Windows NT 5.1

And to answer the question, things to check:

Did you apply the latest NT service pack (6a) before you installed Win2k? SP3 or greater is needed for boot process compatibility with 2k, SP5 or greater is needed for (read-only) compatibility with NTFS 5.

Did you change the install directory for Win2k from the default of c:\winnt to your second partiton (prolly d:\winnt)?

I triple boot Win98, Win2k, and WinXP. WinXP is the best of the three, IMHO. I don't even boot into 98 anymore, or Win2k, for that matter. I believe it's time for a reformat!!!!
