Have a Tripp Lite BC 325 Internet which failed, won't power up anymore. I'm pretty sure it is the circuit board that is bad cuase the batteries are still holding a charge.

Is it worth it at all to repair it or should I just buy a new one ?

Dear Customer,

Thank you for your inquiry.

If your UPS has been purchased within a 27 months period, you are qualified for warranty replacement and all we would need from the customer is the date code, stock/serial number (located on the bottom of your UPS), alone with your shipping address and phone number. Tripp Lite would then issue the customer a RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) number approving the customer to send back the malfunctioning unit for replacement.

If the unit is out of warranty...Normally, the first thing that goes wrong with these units are old or bad battery (s), which in some cases could be resolve by replacing the battery (s). But there is no guarantee that this option will resolve your issue. Please follow "Option Two" only if you know for sure that battery replacement will resolve your issue, if not, please follow "Option One".

There are two options to choose from when a unit is out of warranty:

Option One ? Tripp Lite?s Express Exchange program is a fast and easy way to upgrade your existing, obsolete, or out-of-service unit(s) at considerable savings. Please contact our Product Support Department at
(773) 869-1234 Monday through Thursday 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM Central Standard time and on Friday 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM. They will be able to give you pricing and details on the program.

Option Two ? If your unit does not have a replaceable battery door?the battery (s) inside can still be replaced but it may be more difficult to achieve. This is why Tripp Lite recommends using a ?Qualified Service Personnel? to open, replace, and procure the Manufacture?s Name and Part Number used to order new batteries. These Seal Lead Acid battery (s) are not special and can be purchased through any local Battery Supplying Distributor, or you can reference this part number to Batteries Plus (800)
677-8278 to purchase replacements.

If your unit has a replaceable battery door located on the rear, you will be able to utilize our RBC (Replacement Battery Cartridge) Program. This program is located on Tripp Lite?s website
(http://www.tripplite.com/support/battery/index.cfm) and helps you to select the correct replacement battery (s) for most out of warranty units.
You will also be given pricing and a battery distributor in which you can purchase through.

Reminder: Keep in mind that Option Two is not guaranteed to fix your problem but the only true way to get an understanding of the problem with these units is to have the batteries replaced. This procedure can be a gamble, because if the batteries are not the problem, most battery distributors will not credit used batteries. This is why option one is a better way to go with units out of warranty.

If you have any other questions or comments, please reply to this email or contact us direct at (773)-869-1234 for further assistance.

Thank you for choosing Tripp Lite
Have a nice day!
