How would I go about running a Tri-Monitor setup? We've gotta ATI FireGL V3400 and a GT210 card (I think) and need to figure out how we can set either card up to run 3 monitors extended.

What OS do you have?
If it's XP or 7 you should be able to install the drivers for both and just set it up via the Windows display setup.
If it's Vista it won't play nicely with two vendors GPU drivers.

Win 7 64-Bit...sorry, forgot to add that in. ^_^

So, if we threw the FireGL in, crap...can't do that. The system it needs to go in only has ONE pcie...so, the 2nd card would have to be a PCI card. I found a card in japan (GT210) but I can't find it for sale anywhere of course...

So now my question changes I guess since I had forgotten that nugget of info...what PCI card could I get that would play nicely w/ the existing GT210 for a 3rd monitor.

Check NVs driver pages and see which ones are supported on the same driver as the GT210 and then pick one up.
Not sure how far back the current driver goes in terms of support, but some older cards are now no longer supported AFAIK.

EDIT: Seems like everything from the 6 series up should run on the current driver.

He's got a 24" Samsung via HDMI and (2) Dell 17" via DVI/VGA. I'm sorry..I didn't realize he had HDMI on the card...is there a way to make that work for (3) monitors or no?

If you have a displayport monitor, a 5450 might be a better option...

With a $30 DP->VGA adapter that would be a good option. I'd probably go for the PCI card first though just because I've heard the DP->VGA adapter usually works but can be finicky.

Well...found one more issue this morning after coming in, lol. This machine is an HP...it only has (1) PCIe 16x and (3) PCIe 1x slots...NO, I repeat...NO PCI slots at all on the mobo, what kinda crap is that!?

Cheapest vid cards are around $100 for pcie 1x, can you point me in the direction of the DP -> VGA adapter? That could be our only option at this point.

Err... because that thing doesn't do displayport?

To clarify, "displayport" is the name of the plug. Just like VGA, DVI, and HDMI are names of plugs.

???

I asked what displayport is and how it works (b/c none of the monitors have it nor the vid card)

Also...I wanted to know why I couldn't use the 'linked' usb solution. Sorry for the confusion. ^_^
