I have a smaller desk and am looking to move to a triple monitor setup (up from a single 19" flat panel). Currently, I am looking at:

Does anyone have other / better recommendations? I'd like to keep the upgrade < $1k and also be immersive (hence the 3 monitors which will arc around the desk). I haven't looked into 3D gaming and I don't know if that's really a road I want to go down (would require completely different monitors). I'm also a little worried about the bezel, not sure if there are similar monitors with smaller bezel size.

Examples of games:

  • Crysis 1&2
  • Mass Effect 1&2
  • Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit
  • Skyrim
  • Batman: Arkham Asylum & City

Current rig:

  • i7-2600k
  • 2xGTX 570
  • 12GB RAM
  • 2x4TB media drives
  • 250GB SSD
  • 750W PSU (should upgrade)

Any input anyone could give would be absolutely great (either about the monitors or my rig). Thank you!

Can you even do triple monitor gaming on nVidia? I thought you had to go AMD to get that.

I wouldn't worry about the bezel. After a little while you won't even notice it's there. It's like wearing glasses or a watch or something... you notice them at first, but after a while it's like they're not even there.

Monoprice has monitor mounts for a lot less.

yes Nvidia does 2d surround and 3d surround very well..
if you have SLI and identical monitors.

I'm using a 3 way stand from Ergotech
works well

Don't get it for Mass Effect; the last I checked there's still no multimonitor fix.

If you find one post it so I can use it.

Not sure what your definition of a small desk is, I ended up getting 3x21.5"s (for cost mostly vs 23+") and was very glad I did because they still take up an entire side of my L desk. Any larger they'd be hanging off the edge.

Aside from that though, when I checked them out, the Asus ones seemed pretty good for bezel size, they would have been my pick if it weren't for the sale I stumbled on.
