triple booting

currently i have winxp and win2k on my computer...if you're wondering i never got around to uninstalling win2k after trying out xp...anyways, if i want to install linux and use lilo to boot will that overwrite the existing mbr such that i can't triple boot?

i've been reading around and sometimes i get people (such as anandtech faqs) saying that during installation lilo will recognize all the os'es on my computer and set it up automatically....sometimes people say install the lilo boot record on the acutal linux partition and not /dev/hda and others say install on /dev/hda along with some modifications to the boot.ini and/or lilo.config file

so i'm confused on what to do...any help or ideas? by the way i plan to install mandrake 9.0

Mandrake 9's installation process shouldn't have any problems booting all of the OS's. I'm not sure if it goes with LILO or GRUB standard, but either way it's pretty easy to handle.

See the faq's section as it discusses how to dual boot windows systems and windows/linux systems, and thus will tell you how to add lilo to the Windows MBR that you already have (presuming your dual boot is already set up).
