hi, i was hoping someone could help me out with this. i am dual booting winme and win2k right now. i would like to also add linux mandrake7.2 to be able to triple boot. my current partitions are this: a 6 gig hd partitoned into two 3 gig drives, one has winme, the other has win2k, then i have a 40 gig drive i installed my games and mp3 on. ok would i have to repartition to do this? i have partiton magic 6. any help would be appreciated.

You will have to make the Windows partitions a bit smaller, and create one partition for the Linux swap file, and one for the Linux data. An example would be shrinking the Windows partitions to 2Gigs each and then creating a 1Gig Linux swap partition and a 1Gig Linux Ext2 partition. Here is a good article in case you need more info. This article refers to NT4, but just imagine they say 2000 every time 🙂 Good luck

🙂 That darn link always gets me.

A possible avenue to consider is running Mandrake on top of Windows. Instead of mucking around with partitions, Mandrake just creates a huge file on one of your Windows partitions that contains the Linux side of the world. I've never used it, but it's there.
