I think we stayed there when we went to a concert in 1977. Had to fight the cockroaches to get to the bed.

Day On The Green #6 & 7: Led Zeppelin, Derringer, Judas Priest (July 23 & 24 1977)
Led Zeppelin's performance took place towards the end of its 1977 North American tour. Unknown at the time, these were to be Led Zeppelin's final U.S. shows due to the sudden death of Robert Plant's young son Karac in the UK. The July 23 show was followed by the infamous beating backstage and in a band trailer of one of Bill Graham's crew by Led Zeppelin's road manager and security manager. The July 24 show almost did not occur because of the brawl. Led Zeppelin played only a few more gigs in Europe in 1979 and 1980. A 1980 U.S. tour was announced in support of the new album In Through the Out Door and tickets were sold but the tour did not occur as Led Zeppelin disbanded after the untimely, alcohol-induced death of drummer John Bonham.
Thanks for the Zeppelin history lesson... but I thought this thread was about hotels. :awe:

The Tropicana in Las Vegas didn't make that list huh? Seriously such a shit hole now, it's hard to believe it's still there.

Everything I'm reading is good now because they are going through a huge renovation and it seems that from staff to room cleanliness is spot on. From what I understand before the renovation it was a real dump. I'm planing to go to Vegas this march and this looks like the place to stay for cheep.

I looked at the reviews for one of those places and there were tons of people saying it was terrible. The management of the hotel responded to EVERY review about how great the hotel was.

Yeah, I read those, read like Engrish. I thought it was funny they kept attributing all the negative reviews to jealous competitors in the area.

I'm a little confused, let's look at number 1 on that list:

1 Grand Resort Hotel & Convention Center Pigeon Forge, Tennessee
“There was dirt at least 1/2" thick in the bathtub which was filled with lots of dark hair.”
87% of reviewers do not recommend this hotel

I want to talk about the 13% that would recommend this hotel. Gimme that demographic. Blind? Came at night and never turned the lights on? Scraped up enough money to move out of that cardboard box under the overpass?

What's a little dirt?

My wife and I stayed at a motel in Daytona Beach many years ago (I think it was called the Mermaid Motel). The carpet was so dirty that when I walked across the room, the bottom of my feet became black. I mean really black, like someone had dumped a quart of used motor oil into the carpet and let it soak in for a few weeks.

Definitely the worst place I have ever paid to sleep.
