I'm currently running my S1854 with the version 1.00 bios that shipped with the system. I've never flashed bios yet for fear of unrecoverable crash...but I have this persistent problem with my system whereby I am quite frequently dumped back to desktop (always in games using D3D). As a last resort I guess i'll load the newest 1.07 bios and see what happens.
Have any of you 1854 owners done this and is it recommended? I noticed that the newer bios does something to the AGP and updates "microcode" for newer processors (whatever that means..I have a P3 733) so mabye the AGP thing will solve my problems.
By the way...I have a P3V4X sitting 'round here...is it possible to switch motherboards without full OS re-install of everything? have a master and slave drive?
Christ...why can't things just work the first time!!!???

I've been running a s1854 but just swapped it out so I could oc a p3 slot 1.
This is a good tyan unofficial site in the UK
http://www.homeweb.org.uk/s1854/ that talks about the different bios' and their setup.
Don't be afraid to flash, I think it's just the lawyers talking for liability purposes. Just follow the instructions if you decide to.

I've swapped boards a few times including the tyan out for an ax63pro and I do it dirty without preparation and let windows sort it out then run norton's system works pro to smooth it out. It takes a bit of time for windows to rediscover all the stuff and sort out irqs and drivers but its worked okay for me and I run a modem and network card, cdrw and cdr etc.
Good luck
