Not sure if this belongs here or in notebooks, but I was wondering if anyone has tried running Trine on a GeForce G210M?

It "runs" on my ASUS UL80Vt w/ the G210M but the display looks really bizarre; There is lots of artifacting, and all the colors are too vivid with red, blue, and green saturating various parts of the display. I'll try to get a screenshot if necessary.

This happens regardless of resolution or quality setting.

Finally, the game fails to exit properly.

Anyone else experience these issues or have a solution?

Yeah, crappy old drivers from Asus. Have to wait until Asus updates their damn nVidia hybrid drivers.

Figured as much. I believe there's another thread about how much a pain in the ass the drivers are to update on these hybrid notebooks. I'll trying waiting until that is resolved.

I found out that the problem was a corrupted game file, and using Steam to "verify game cache" resolved the issue.

Trine now plays just fine on my UL80Vt with the G210M enabled.

Great that you resolved your problem. Having said that, how's your ASUS doing in general? What I'm mostly looking for is how long does the battery run for you and if you get any slowdowns when browsing the Web (especially Flash).

I know there are reviews (there's one on Anandtech too) but I'd also like to hear some comments from other people using it daily :) Does the battery really last 10-ish hours with the Intel IGP and 1.3GHz CPU? How's the system performing then? Do you notice any slowdowns?

Thanks in advance!

I haven't done any procedural testing, but it does seem to last close to 9-10 hours if doing casual web browsing on the IGP. I don't view many flash intensive websites, but I have no problem playing an occasion flash game on the IGP, either.

I did about 3 hours of webbrowsing yesterday, 3 hours of games on the G210m (eufloria, trine, osmos) and now viewing this page today i have 37% battery remaining.

It definitely meets my expectations for battery life although it may not be quite what the reviews say.

+1. I bought this because of the battery life and performance/size.
