Trilenear filtering ?

Why is it not possible to set the matrox g400 to trilinear filtering as a default ?

Seems that these fancy features would be accessable, and as they are advertised, could be set in some sort of utility or display somewhere.

I know with savage cards, there is a s3tweak utility that could set trilinear filter, and other video cards have something similiar.

Any g400 owners out there with the same problem ?
