The racist ranter is now charged with a hate crime.

"Man who harassed woman in Puerto Rican T-shirt now facing hate crime charges"
https://www.yahoo.com/gma/police-of...rto-rican-151203854--abc-news-topstories.html

"Timothy Trybus already faced a simple assault charge over the June 14 incident but a spokesperson for the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office announced that Trybus will be in court for a bond hearing over two counts of a felony hate crime charges on Friday July 12."

The guy's lawyer says he was drunk and on painkillers because he had six teeth removed the day before. Probably the wrong defense. That's usually when you say what you really think. He looks like an old angry racist white guy with few/no teef. The shirt with the cutoff sleeves gives him away.

I lived in Birmingham, AL for 20 years (work, not by choice) and it's still very racist down south in the "bible belt". But that's another story.

Let's see... first we had Ambien made me do it and now it's painkillers/alcohol. Amazing how those things force saintly folks to become hate mongers.

Just reinforcing the GOP belief that prescription drugs should cost $7500 for each dose.

Was alcohol prescribed by the physician?

LOL, painkillers + alcohol would make almost anyone sleepy and give zero rat's ass about what T-shirt someone was wearing. The cop who did Jack-squat to stop this was assigned to a desk job then quit before he was scheduled to appear at a hearing about his dereliction of duty. Not to worry, he'll just find employment elsewhere and never have to change his useless ways of face the music.

Oh, I missed it, in any event I'm glad his personal file will have been notated with "actions pending" on it. I still say he finds employment quickly, problem cop's routinely just move to a different city.

Let's hope that, at least this time, it doesn't work like that.

This one does. I also think the police officer should have a charge leveled against him that is equal or greater than that of the guy committing the crime. Standing by and allowing a crime to happen is worse in my opinion then the crime itself.
I forgot to say, Welcome to the Resistance.
