I'm still a little ignorant of a lot of networking details. My current problem is that I have mulitple people behind the router who need access to the same ports.

In one case, we all need access to the Blizzard Downloader, which uses ports 3724 and 6881-6999. Would I be correct to use triggered port forwarding instead of port forwarding? Would port 3724 be the trigger port?

In general, do you use triggered port forwarding when you have mulitple router clients that need access to the same ports? Is there something else I'm missing?

"If you have multiple computers on your network and would like to get files via the Blizzard Downloader to each computer, we recommend that you configure one computer to use the downloader effectively by forwarding the necessary ports on your router as necessary. Once that computer has completed the download, you can use normal file or folder sharing to transfer the file(s) from that computer to the other computers on the network just as you would any other file. The file(s) downloaded can usually be found in the directory you installed the game to on your hard drive, unless the Blizzard Downloader prompted you for a directory in which to save the file(s). Depending on your network setup, attempting to use the Downloader from multiple computers on the same network may cause them to split the available internet bandwidth to download the same files - slowing each computer's download significantly. Downloading to one computer and then simply sharing the file on your network can speed up the download by focusing all available bandwidth on one download."

Port triggering, trigger range of ports, but each port can only be opened toward one specific computer (IP).

If a port related to Intrenet traffic would be able to feed two computers, the whole NAT idea is moot.

BTW, my grandson Network (A level 60 WOW player), a Router (Linksys WRT54G) and two computers, can updated the computers while No ports is opened or triggered. I have No idea why, and he would not let me touch it as long as it works.
