Trigger foods

For those working to get and keep clean diets, what foods tempt your resolve and are most difficult to resist?

For me it's chocolate and cheesecake. They are serving a heavenly looking cheesecake today here at work and I'm finding resistance to be tougher, they are offering a variety of different toppings arghhhh!!! 😛

Geekbabe,

When was the last time you had chocolates or cheesecake? Do you allow yourself to have any during your splurge meal, assuming you allow yourself a splurge meal?

I have treats occasionally but we generally keep only clean foods in the house, so treats are few and far between. As a rule now when I'm hungry I only want clean"legal" foods but occasionally I see the bad stuff and get like a sensory flooding of intense craving.

I don't eat a lot of sweets. Chips (potato or tortilla) are my main vice. That said, I'm not on a diet so I don't really give a fvck. 😉

"legal" foods? Ok, what "diet" are you using?

Most people get the craving you are speaking about because they do not allow themselves to splurge (not in calories, only in type of food).

I'm not trying to demean your eating habits, but moderation and calorie control should be the driving forces of your meal planning, not legality of foods. But, again, if it works for you, then go for it. I would just suggest not to make yourself unhappy because you can't splurge once in a while with a favorite food. When I lost 23 pounds six months ago, I still ate chips and salsa. It's a trigger food for me, but I was able moderate the intake and not allow it to take me over my calorie ceiling.

ahh, i thought trigger for diarrhoea.

if thats the case, try drinking a lot, gets your tummy running in no time
