i have an athlon tbird 850mhz, tried to oc using the fsb method....now it's underclocked, back to 733 mhz. this is what i did: went to bios, set it to 111 for the fsb, but that was too high, so my comp wouldn't start. to recover, i tried setting multiplier down -- didn't work. so i took out the bios battery for 5 secs, put it back in, then resetted the multiplier setting to 8.5 (by adjusting the jumpers)...

now it's only running at 733 mhz. how the hell do i go back to my original factory settings?

thx

In your bios, there should be an option to revert back to either the optimized settings, or the bios default settings. choose one of those and you should get your normal speed back.

THe cmos may not have cleared properly. There should be a cmos clear jumper on the mobo. Use it to clear the cmos properly (you will need to follow the exact instructions for the mobo), then reset the bios to default/optimal and make sure the jumpers are all at their defult locations (bus -> 100MHz, and multiplier jumper to 8.5).

Hope this helps.
