Tried to catch a Praying mantis....

I think i was a male, small and brown.
I saw it flying and wondered what it was. I wanted to bring it home and show my wife but it starting scratching and biting me. It bit me on the thumb and actually drew blood. I am surprised.

Anyway anyone ever get bit by a mantis?

I'm not surprised it drew blood. I fed a fairly large mantis a big cricket once - it picked up the cricket and ripped the head off. It pretty much bit off the limbs and chowed down on the body.
