Win XP seems incapable of recognizing it had a DVD in my DVD burner drive as it told me I only had 656 MB available on a 4.65 GB DVD ( I was trying to burn 2.65 GB of info).

Is there any way around this limitation, or do I need to get some DVD burning software.

If yes, does anyone know of any good freeware DVD/CD burning software???

There is no way around it. XP simply does not support DVD burning as a function of XP.

I would have thought that your -712A would have shipped with PlexTools Professional.

Freeware DVD burning? Don't know anything about that. Sorry.

Thanks. I'll recheck what came with the Plextor Drive... Didn't think of that... Believe it or not, I've never had a need to burn a CD or a DVD since I built my rig...
