i tried to install easy cd 5.0 platinum on my new Gateway 700XL (from a hot deal) and while installing, I pushed yes to everything. one of the question i said yes to was that this was not made for xp, well the next time i booted the computer it wouldn't load. it gave me a blue screen that i had never seen before. it said that windown has been shut down for the computer's safety and that I should check the installation of any hardware or software.
i cant access anything, not even the c drive. i called gateway and they told me that I need to reformat the drive and start from scratch. i don't mind that, but i have some files on that computer that i need. any help?
i know this is vague, but i will post more later on.
