Was at a clients and they have DSL, so, while I was working on some of their problems I planned on downloading XP SP1. Well, I knew it was a recent release so it would be slow, I budgeted a couple hours--figured 10-20kbps--but, man, 3-5Kbps that just sucks.
I was planning to install (upgrade to?) XP this weekend, so, I was dl'ing the latest drivers and crap for all my peripherals. Creative labs was SLOW too. Had to get in queue and then when it finally started I was only getting 3Kbps on that one. Ended up having to cancel the dl's because I was finished and couldn't wait around.
I guess it's not so bad being STUCK on dialup right now. I'll still get broadband when it's available so I can DL crap and not slow everything else down, but, argh-- that was annoying having the bandwidth and not being able to use it.
Oh well. I got a few other things I needed (nvidia was fast, so was roxio) so it wasn't a complete waste.
